The Scorpio Races Book Review

My wife's review of the Scorpio Races:

So, surprisingly I really liked this book. It's different enough from what's currently out there, which is always a plus for me. I wasn't dying to read it because I wasn't a big fan of her Shiver series, but this book kept getting really good reviews.  So, I tried it out. It is a whole lot better.
In young adult books right now, it's hard not to pick up a book that has a really lame story and an even lamer and more unbelievable romance. Scorpio Races does both very well with a unique idea and an understated romance that seems believable and endearing. It's a quick read that ends way too quickly and abruptly.  However, I'd much rather have that then have it drag out into a series of lame books.
The other thing it has going for it is that it's very genuine but still a very clean book. It's actually one you can recommend to young people without have to preface it with, "well there is this one part."  Anyways, a good read!

Unsaid Adult Fiction Book Cover Review

Does Unsaid not just invite a calm peaceful feeling?  I love the pastels, the farm life, the green grass by the pond, the mountains in the background, the birds in the air, the dogs.  Great imagery.  The title is a great one word title that makes me want to know more.  Nice blurb as well on the cover makes it a pretty convincing read.  See the positive reviews for it here on Amazon.  Plus, check out the just as warm but completely different paperback cover here.

Vampirates Tide of Terror Juvenile Fiction Book Cover Review

I have always loved the covers of the Vampirates books.  The logo of the skull with vampire teeth is cool.  The ghostly apparition looks magical and scary at once.  The realism of the art makes you take the writing seriously.  Just a great looking cover with a very clever title joining two hot properties into one word.  See the reviews for the book itself here on Amazon.

The Selection is a Near Perfect Young Adult Fiction Book Cover

What a beautiful cover!!!  That has got to be one of the most wonderful shades of blue.  The way all of the blues run together really almost looks like an ocean of dresses.  Combine that with the lily white skin and vibrant red hair of the presumable heroine, and you have someone you acre about without even having met them yet.  Imagine that, provoking emotion from a cover!  Love the bright lights up top.  Makes it feel somehow magical.  Finally, the font is classy, giving it an air of dignity (probably something to fight against).

Great Conservative, Historical, Fun Adult Fiction Cover

Love this new release today.  I like the red curtain in the background that contrasts so well with the huge white "x" across the middle.  Not to mention the violin all twisted up.  That provokes some curiosity.  Lastly, I love the old timey font on the title.  I am a sucker for historical fiction.  The font screams history to me!
